From explorers to entrepreneurs: Four speakers not to miss at HUG
The countdown is on – it’s now less than a month until HUG, our biggest event of the year, comes to London. We’re so excited about our jam-packed schedule of fascinating talks and workshops and wanted to give you a taste of what to expect.
Are you joining us at HUG this year? Although we're currently operating a waitlist, for those who did land tickets, here's what you can expect. We'll be joined by a world record-holding explorer, award-winning CEOs, en ex-fighter pilot and a Dragon’s Den judge.
1. The greatest living explorer: Sir Ranulph Fiennes
What to know:
For the last nearly 40 years, Sir Ranulph Fiennes has held the Guinness World Record for world’s greatest living explorer. He was the first person to visit both the North and the South Pole by surface travel alone and the first to cross Antarctica on foot. He also became the oldest Briton to climb Mount Everest when he summited at the age of 65.
Ranulph received an OBE in 1993 for "human endeavour and for charitable services" and was named as the UK's top celebrity fundraiser, after raising more than £2.5 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care. He’s also the author of over 20 books, both fiction and non-fiction, including a bestselling biography of fellow explorer Robert Falcon Scott.
