The value of Personio, as told by our customers
At Personio, we’re honoured to have supported more than 12,000 organisations across Europe as they evolve their people operations. In many cases, this starts with a determined HR leader who wants to automate their people workflows, offer more flexibility to employees and provide meaningful HR insights.
While this all sounds great, it can be a challenge for HR leaders to actually measure the value of introducing these changes to an organisation. We were also curious about this, so we asked 350 customers across nine countries (including the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands) to understand the value they had gained with Personio.
Personio’s Co-Founder and CEO, Hanno Renner, takes you through the results.
Productivity:
- 42%: Average time saved by employees on HR data updates per month
- 38%: Average time saved on HR workflows like onboarding, approvals etc
HR support:
- 27%: Improvement in speed of resolving employee queries
Employee satisfaction:
- 22%: Increase in overall level of employee satisfaction with HR
Key findings from the study
Productivity:
One area we heard a lot about was HR data. Ask any employee and they’ll tell you about the hassle of navigating HR tools to enter and update data like address, tax number, beneficiaries and more.
With Personio the time spent on such tasks went down by an amazing 42%. That means less frustration for employees and time back that they can spend on more interesting things.
In addition, HR teams also experienced significant time savings with Personio. While performing key HR workflows such as onboarding, reporting and approvals, HR teams gained a significant 38% time savings. They are now able to focus on more strategic areas like recruiting and skills development which I’m sure they are happy about!
HR support:
HR teams are also tasked with responding to queries from employees across the organisation. With questions ranging from payroll, benefits, holidays and skills training, it can be challenging for HR teams to respond and resolve to the sheer volume they are faced with.
We were delighted to learn that Personio customers found they were able to resolve 27% more of such queries from first contact! That means employees didn’t need to follow up and provide even more information, their query was resolved directly from their initial ask.
Employee satisfaction:
Perhaps the best way to measure value is to simply ask how satisfied employees are with HR before and after implementing Personio. The findings here were perhaps the most incredible of all, customers told us that employee satisfaction increased by a whopping 22%. We have to admit this metric became our favourite!
We learned about even more value gained by HR teams:
- Decision-making: Speed of decision-making increased by 21%.
- IT support: Time spent troubleshooting and resolving issues by IT declined by 18%.
- Time to hire: Time saved on screening, sourcing, communicating, scheduling and preparing offers was reduced by 24%.
- Payroll costs: Reduction in errors and reruns resulted in a 17% drop in payroll costs.
- Admin costs: Through automation, the cost of administrative items like postage, paper and other materials was reduced by 31%.
There was significant value to teams outside of HR who participate in these HR processes:
- Payroll calculations: Overtime calculations we performed 24% faster, saving time for finance teams.
- Hiring: Members of the hiring team were able to spend 16% less time on the hiring process.
- Performance reviews: Time spent gathering across the business gathering feedback, self reviews, manager reviews and the performance of the review itself was reduced by 22%.
- Training: For new employees, the time required to ramp into their roles was reduced by 20%. Time required for overall planning, enrolling, scheduling and reporting on training was reduced by 17%.
The value is real and it's here today
We’re incredibly grateful to our customers for trusting their HR operations with us and the findings from this survey were amazing to see. I’m particularly moved by the HR leaders who had a vision for an automated, flexible and insightful HR function and made their vision come to life with Personio. The value they have in turn created for HR and their businesses is truly impressive.
I hope you are also inspired by the value HR teams have been able to generate and if you’d like to learn more you can access the full Power of Personio report here. Take a look here.
